This home was designed as an escape for an active and nature-loving couple. Prior to the house being built, the clients had created a network of hiking trails on the lake-front property. The goals were to sit lightly in the landscape, remove as few trees as possible, and accentuate the amazing views on all sides.

The spacious kitchen island does double duty as the dining table, with room for 6. The kitchen opens up into the living room with a cozy fireplace built into the custom millwork. On the other side of the home, the guest room—with a built-in murphy bed—doubles as a jam space when guests are not staying the night.
